We are down to just 5 days of school before our Winter Break! Let's celebrate by having a fun dress up week! Each day students are invited to wear the theme for the day to get ready for the holidays and our winter break. We have some special events planned as well. Thursday is our annual luncheon where the cafeteria will be decorated to create a new fun ambiance, where fancy dress is encouraged. Friday during pajama day, students will enjoy festivities along with a performance from 1st and 2nd grade students. Parents of 1st and 2nd graders are invited to attend their students program! We are so excited to celebrate with all of our students next week!

This week on Wednesday plan to get dinner at Cafe Zupas on Milwaukee to help bring some money back to Silver Sage! Our PTO is hosting a fundraiser night on Wednesday, December 10th. Order dinner between 4-9PM and we get money back for our school! If you go in person, let the cashier know you are with Silver Sage. You can even order online and check the fundraiser button to make sure the order attaches to us. Delicious dinner and for a good cause! Don't miss out!

Congratulations to our Silver Sage SOLEkids running group. Over the weekend, all of their hard work was showcased in their final 5K race! For weeks they have shown perseverance by practicing after school, building their endurance to prepare for the race. Led by Mrs. Hall and her family, they showed grit on the course on their way to earn a medal as a SOLEkids finisher! Not everyone can say they have ran a 5K - way to go!
3rd Grade, led by Mrs. Boyd, held an amazing performance on Veteran's Day to honor our Veteran's and celebrate all that they have done for our country and community. Songs were sang, poems were read, and thanks were given. Thank you to all of our Veteran's.

We have some exciting new things headed to Silver Sage thanks to some of our teachers who were awarded grants from the West Ada Foundation! In total, these 3 teachers are bringing in over $8,000 worth of new materials to enrich the learning of our Silver Sage learners!
Mrs. Ellington's class is getting "Hand's On" with their learning! The purpose is to increase tactile learning in both kindergarten classrooms. The grant money will be used to create sensory bins for number and letter recognition, fine motor skills practice (like buttoning things and shoe tying practice), and sandpaper letters and numbers to help with identification. Both kindergarten teachers are so excited to share this tools with their classes!
Ms. Gorman's grant will fund additional STEM bin activities in our 4th grade classrooms. Items such as Picaso Tiles, Legos, Kinetic Sand and more will enrich the bins that get used weekly. Additionally, student's are getting a Lego Technic Set to illustrate the Planet Earth and Moon in orbit that will be used to the STAR lab on our school wide STEM day!
Mrs. Boyd knows that to learn music, you need to be able to play the instruments. Students have been limited by the number of instruments we have and needed to share and wait. Not anymore! Grant money will be used to purchase more instruments including 12 new barred instruments! With these new instruments, students will be able to play and create much more intricate music, from the steady bass beat to the high melodies.
What fun we had during our Trunk or Treat event on Friday! Our cars had amazing themes, and our community came out dressed and ready for fun! Thanks to everyone who attended to help make it one of the best attended and festive Trunk or Treat we've had! We love bringing everyone together to celebrate and have fun.
The weather is getting cooler and it's time to start planning for the Holidays! Silver Sage is happy to host our annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday November 8th from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. This event will have booths with locals selling their crafts, treats, toys, and more to get ready for the holidays. We will also have vendors selling food, boba, doughnuts, and warm coffee and cocoa to enjoy while you shop. This is a great opportunity to start checking off to-do's and gift lists this season. Stay in the neighborhood and get the goods!
Trunk or Treat is happening this Friday, October 24th! Enjoy the fall season and start collecting treats with our Silver Sage community at our annual event on the East Playground. Themed cars will be there to pass out treats and enjoy seeing our families and friends as they are dressed up in their Halloween Best! See you there from 6:00-7:00!
The Night at the Farmstead is always a great event every fall! Such an awesome event to have our community come out to enjoy a staple of Idaho - corn mazes and fall fun! And of course, Kiss the Pig! Thanks to our 4th grade team who "won" the piggy bank contest and the opportunity to Kiss the Pig while the students cheered them on!
Did someone say "Tennis"? Students had the opportunity to learn the sport of Tennis this week after school. The Tennis is Elementary program opened students eyes to the awesome sport. There were tons of smiles while they were striking and volleying over the net and the coaches brought all the knowledge and enthusiasm! Look out for some of these kiddos on a court near you!
Farmstead night is Thursday, October 16th! Join the fun at the Lowe's Family Farmstead with your Silver Sage Community. Cost is $12 plus tax per person and includes the corn maze, hayrides, corn poppers, cow train rides, farmyard games, Bee zip lines, and more! **Be sure to tell the admissions that you are with Silver Sage to get the discounted ticket!

Mark your calendars for the Silver Sage Bazaar on November 8th! We will host local vendors to help you get your holiday shopping done early this year! Don't fight the traffic by driving through town - stay in your neighborhood. We will have booths with a variety of crafts, toys, pampered chef, and more. Food and coffee trucks will be on site to fuel your food and drink needs! See you there!
