We are just wrapping up our first full week of school and the learning is taking off! These student's have been learning about thinking maps and practiced using a circle map. Circle maps capture the main idea and then they brainstorm around the main idea topic. The first graders collaborated and spelled together with no teacher help!

This year we are updating our policies with celebrating student birthdays. In order to support a healthy learning environment, protect instructional time, and align with the district wellness policy, we are no longer allowing treats for student birthdays. Fun non-edible alternatives are welcome to help celebrate and have fun with classmates. Thank you for your assistance as we make this change.
Families are welcome to join student's for their Birthday's in the lunchroom (or any special occasion) and we have a table available for you to enjoy your meal with them.

As the year starts, please remember some of our keys to keeping our Stallions safe during pick up and drop off. Watch for crossing guards and follow their prompts to ensure you can make it through the line timely and safely. We have staff to help open and close car doors so there is no need for you to get out. The line is a no passing line and all cars must remain single file. If you want to help your student, please park in a parking space and walk them to the sidewalk.
Thanks for your help!

Spring in Kindergarten means releasing butterflies! After classes learned and watched the eggs grow to caterpillars and chrysalis, and finally into butterflies, students got to release their new friends into nature. Before they flew away some students got the chance to be up close. We love being able to experience the learning!

WOW what Kindness and generosity we showed this month! We celebrated kindness month by having a food drive for the Meridian Food Bank. It was a small competition to see which classes could donate the most items, but also it showed that working together we can make a big difference in our community. Mrs. Gee's class donated the most in the younger grade levels, and Ms. Gorman's class took the prize in the older grades. As a whole school we donated a total of 1,223 items! Way to go Stallions! You're making a big difference for those around us.
