Last week, 5th grader Sofia showcased her amazing artistic skills! Her painting of the Grand Teton National Park was chosen to represent Silver Sage at the district art show. Sofia really captured all the beauty that there is in nature with her work and we are so excited that she got to share her skills with others tonight!

Our 4th graders have continued their exploration of Idaho History with an opportunity to get their hands dirty with some panning for gold! Students learned about the Gold Rush and sifted the dirt to find as much gold as possible. They got to experience the thrill of seeing those gold sparkles shining in the pan as they struck it rich!

Our 1st graders got to explore the Boise Zoo on Friday! The weather was beautiful as they waked through the exhibits to see the different wildlife. Students' got to see the creatures that they only see pictures of and read about all of a sudden right in front of them in real life! What an amazing experience.

Dinner plans have been made already to start your weekend! Join us in helping raise money for Silver Sage and getting a delicious meal! Order your Panda Express online anytime Friday, April 19th and use code 920324 in the fundraiser box and part of the order total will be donated back to us to help our school and students! The hardest part may be deciding which items you want to eat for dinner!

Silver Sage had a visit from @wasdnutrition and Westy! Westy provided some fun as they greeted the students and encouraged them to keep eating a healthy meals! Our stallions have really enjoyed the new vegetable bar at our lunches and were in great spirits with their lunchtime guest! Thanks for visiting us Westy!

You know that it is near the end of the school year when Mrs. Spittle is on the roof of the school taking a class picture of the 5th graders.

This week we had @Treasurevalleysaferoutes host a Bike Rodeo at Silver Sage! As the weather warms up, our bike tires are getting pumped up and helmets are being strapped on to have some fun! They taught our students about safe riding by sharing the road and obeying traffic signs on our pathways. Students got to feel the wind blowing in their faces as they navigated the course, making turns, going uphill, swerving around the slalom cones, and delivering newspapers while riding bikes and scooters! Lots of smiles! Thanks to Lisa, Charlie and Jacob for visiting and our parent volunteers for helping students!

Be sure to look at what is coming up ahead after Spring Break. In just the first few weeks we will have pictures, yearbooks, and volunteer opportunities to help enrich our students education. Check the latest newsletters for more information.

This year, students and teachers are working on being "On Track" with our learning. Students are encouraged to work on iReady lessons to assist them in their learning goals. Each week, students get to move across the board for how many lessons they have completed so far in the school year. Students get excited when it is their turn to take their picture and move it to the next level! Keep it up!

Kindergarten celebrated the 100th day of school! Aren't they the cutest?!?

This week we celebrate our own Mrs. Moore! Mrs. Moore has been the counselor at Silver Sage for 8 years and we are so thankful she chooses to stay with our community. She is always a calming presence and is a valuable resource to the staff and students. She is hands down the best counselor around!

We love celebrating students and learning from each other. At our assemblies we have been highlighting our community members from different cultures. This month we learned about the Ukrainian language and were taught how to count to 10 from our own students and staff members whose first language is Ukrainian! It's so much fun! Also, did you know Ukrainian was voted the 2nd most beautiful language in the world?
